About The Caboose

After opening in 1997 as a wine, craft beer, and cheese market, The Caboose quickly became a staple of the cute community of Ashland, Virginia. Located on the railroad tracks of historic downtown Ashland, the Caboose has always been proud to provide it's patrons with an extensive and affordable selection of wine and beer, locally made products, and fine cheeses. The market still offers free wine tastings and education every Friday from 5-7:30pm, as well as beer tastings every first Friday of the month. In 2015 we expanded towards the back of the building and started a small, seasonal, farm-to-table café that strives to source from local family farms as much as possible.

We believe in coming together as a community

to celebrate well crafted and locally sourced

food and drink

Our head chef, Jeremy Moore, grew up in our small town and is well versed with our local agriculture and creating unique cuisine highlighting those ingredients. We are thankful to have such a great community of local farmers and producers that we can source fresh ingredients from! Our café menu changes seasonally and we offer daily specials of a Smaller Plate, Salad, Signature Plate, Soup du Jour, and Desserts so there's always something new to try. We also have weekly specials including a Sloppy Joe Day, $45

Date Night for Two, Half Priced Growler Day, and more!
